If you like striped bass, you shouldn’t miss this show. If you like surfcasting history, you can’t afford to miss this show. If you love plugs, you absolutely cannot miss this show. If you haven’t heard of it, believe it or not, the SWLCC Show and Swap Meet is already in its 13th year. And take our word for it, this show is not your average fishing flea market.

What makes the SWLCC Show so unique is the mix of new and old. There will be huge displays of antique plugs, stuff you can’t see anywhere else. The men and women standing behind the cases of Masterlures, Atoms, Lidos, Pichneys, Mussos, Fishmasters, SoCo’s, Floyd Romans, Stan Gibbs and Cap’n Bill’s are some of the most knowledgeable plug historians on the planet. Ask questions and you are almost certain to gain a headful of knowledge, maybe even more than you actually wanted to know!

Then there’s swap meet aspect, plastic bins overflow with used antique plugs, from all of your favorite old school builders, these plugs can be had at reasonable prices and anyone with a pair of wire cutters, some plug building supplies and few cans of spray paint can restore these old workhorses to their prior glory and put them back to work in the salt. There are also opportunities to bring in your unidentified antique plugs, expert eyes will tell you what they are and what they might be worth. Plug trades will be happening all day long too, so if you’re looking for something stop in and bring something to trade.

All this might be enough for many, but there will also be several high-end contemporary builders in attendance, selling their wares to the casters and collectors of today. Come in to get your hands on hard-to-find plugs made by Atlantic Plug and Lure Company, Lights Out Lures, GooGooMan Plugs, Surf Asylum, Paiva Lures, Hog Island Lures, Striper Maine-iac, Gremlin Lures, Tank Lures and many more.

The show is free and open to the public, it all begins May 14 at 8 a.m. and wraps up at 2 p.m. The show is being held at White’s Of Westport, located at 66 State Road (Route 6) in Westport, Massachusetts.
