WICC 600/Spector Eye Care Greatest Bluefish Tournament On Earth

The Greatest Bluefish Tournament on Earth will take place throughout Long Island Sound on Saturday, August 28th and Sunday, August 29th. The perfect sport for social distancing is fishing so the famous Greatest Bluefish Tournament is happening! The Tournament offers anglers up to $40,000 in cash prizes. The grand prize of $25,000 goes to the heaviest bluefish, 2nd place takes home $7,500 and 3rd place gets $2,500. In addition, there are cash prizes for 4th through 20th place. The Tournament also offers a ‘port prize’ for the heaviest fish at each participating weigh-in station in Connecticut and New York.

Tournament Director Steve Soyland said, “The popularity of this tournament continues to grow, so we are thrilled to confirm the date and get fishing!” He continued, “I am excited to bring this major tournament back to Long Island Sound for the 39th year and I look forward to paying out some money this summer!”

Registration is $36 and opens on July 2nd. Anglers can register by calling 203-366-BLUE or apply in person at any one of the registration stations around the sound in CT and NY. Registration is also offered online and includes a unique 2021 Greatest Bluefish Tournament t-shirt, which many anglers collect over the years.

Deadline to register for the Tournament is Friday, August 27th. Registration is required to participate. The Tournament begins Saturday, August 28th at 12:01am and ends Sunday, August 29th at 5pm. The first-place winner will be interviewed live on WICC600, and all winners are announced immediately after the Tournament.
