Bernie's Bait and Tackle

Mike at Bernie's Bait and Tackle reported that both fluke and striped bass opportunities remain available inside Jamaica Bay for shorebound anglers. Small bucktails tipped with Gulp and soft plastics have been effective for fluke, while striped bass continue to fall for swim shads, SP Minnows, and other baitfish-profile lures during the low-light periods.

Mike at Bernie's Bait and Tackle reported striped bass are still holding around Breezy Point and throughout Jamaica Bay. A mix of swimming plugs and fresh bait continues to account for most of the action. Anglers can't go wrong with SP Minnows, Joe Baggs Swarters, or Mag Darters, while glide baits have been especially productive for larger fish. There are also occasional bluefish being caught around Coney Island, adding a little extra excitement to the mix.
