From the Ebb Tide, they reported an excellent day of fluke and sea bass fishing on the half-day trips. Giuseppe was the standout, limiting out on both trips and winning both pools. “Lt. Dan” also had a strong showing with four fish total, two on each trip, and finished with the second-largest fish on both trips. There was plenty of action with short fish mixed in as well. The Ebb Tide will also be making its fall schedule change, switching back to 3/4-day fluke and sea bass trips, with striped bass added to the mix once they move in. Trips will run from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. More information is available at EbbTideFishing.com.

From the Ebb Tide, they reported a productive August 29 afternoon half-day trip that felt more like a fall mixed-bag outing, with a variety of species feeding throughout the afternoon and rods bending steadily. The pool fish weighed a respectable 5.25 pounds. Their recent Fluke/Tuna Fishtacular also paid off after the crew refused to give up following an unsuccessful first attempt, eventually landing a fat 51-inch bluefin estimated at 75 to 80 pounds. Captain James and Captain Lil Ant found the right combination, and the Pennsylvania crew took turns on the rod during a complete team effort. They also leadered an estimated 200-pound sand tiger shark on fluke tackle. Fluke fishing was challenging because of a large swell working against the tide, but Mike from Pennsylvania took the pool with a 7.5-pounder and completed his limit with fish of 7.1 and 5.4 pounds. Another 6.75-pound fish hit the deck along with several fluke in the 3- to 4-pound range. Sea bass fishing was somewhat affected by the swell, but everyone aboard still went home with an equal share of fresh tuna after a memorable day.
