Jill from the November Rain said “It’s been another busy week, kicked off with the Jamie McGarvey crew. The guys wanted nothing but big striped bass and that’s what they caught all day. We released most of the fish, with a few in the 40-pound class, including one that was halved by a shark on the way up. First timer Jim Romano also sailed with us early in the week for a bass/bottom trip. We had a few oversized fish to start followed by a nice catch of sea bass. Ed Anderson returned for his annual trip and we repeated the bass/bottom routine. The striped bass were less cooperative, and we landed a few slobs before putting two dozen sea bass in the box. Bill Germanakos came all the way from Keystone Yacht Club for a trip mid-week. The guys fought a few overs to start the trip before turning to the sea bass for a decent bite. Megan’s gang also came out mid-week. We stuck to the bottom fishing for this group and easily put a nice catch together. Thursday saw another bottom fishing trip with the Eric Perry crew. The guys had a banner day, loading the boat with a limit of sea bass and more than a couple bushels of scup. We steamed offshore on Friday with Mike Matthews and the boys. Incredible bite, going 6 for 7 bluefin and putting 3 on ice. Saturday morning saw Andrea Sauro and her family for their annual trip. The striped bass were being finicky so we stuck to the bottom fishing and sent the crew home with their limit of sea bass. We had a repeat of the bottom fishing for Robert and Bobby McBride on Saturday afternoon, who came out to catch the evening’s dinner. The bass can be temperamental, but there’s still plenty of action to get in on, both inshore and offshore.” Give them a call at (646) 335-7315 to book a trip.

Captain Jim from Tailwrapped Sportfishing said to me “Monday we headed offshore with John Klesserahtt and his crew for some tuna action and that's what they got. Battling a yellowfin that topped the scales at 118 pounds and his buddy Steve Horowitz landed a beautiful 66-inch bluefin that weighed 153 pounds. Taking top slot for the dock records at Sam's Star Island Yacht Club. Both fish took green sidetracker spreader bars. We had to postpone Wednesday’s offshore trip due to less than favorable conditions. On Friday Chris Hickney and his boys joined us in the afternoon and bent rods on monster blues under the light on the flood tide.
