Our first call to the Diamond State went out to Steve over at Smith Bait and Tackle in Leipsic. He told me some of the best bass fishing has been on minnows and Senkos in Silver Lake in Dover. In addition he mentioned some good action in Massey Mill Pond and Garrisons on topwater frogs fished early and late in the day around the spawning grounds.

White perch and catfish supplied the bulk of the fishing this past week for anglers stopping in at Smith Bait and Tackle in Leipsic. Sources there told us all the tidal creeks are full of spawning cats and perch and anglers have been seeing some non-stop fishing. Bass fishing is still spotty with most of the bass being on the beds and being caught on topwater baits and plastics early and late in the day.
