Captain Jim from Tailwrapped Sportfishing reported that blackfish and sea bass have been dominating the action around Montauk, with limits of both species coming aboard on recent trips. One of the standout catches of the week came from Carolyn Smith, who landed an impressive 14.3-pound blackfish on Saturday while fishing a white crab. Tom Cook and his crew also enjoyed a fantastic outing, putting together a limit of blackfish to 6 pounds along with plenty of quality sea bass. Striped bass fishing has been more inconsistent, with some days producing better action than others as fish continue moving through the area.
