Capt. Paul Ripperger and Captain Rachel Jannace Johnson of the Tide Hustle in Greenport reports yet another fabulous week of fishing inside the bay and in Gardiners Bay. Porgies primarily fill out the buckets with some excellent shots of weakfish as well. Friday’s trip in some nautical weather did not deter anglers from sailing and of course foul weather often provides excellent fishing which is what the crew of anglers got. It was lock and load in bouncy seas with porgies dominating the catch along with an excellent catch of weakfish, some black sea bass and fluke. The great fishing carried right into the weekend with plenty of porgies all around the rails along with some special treats as well. It is truly fun fishing and the veteran captains know just where they live.
