
The Fisherman Magazine is saddened to report the passing of longtime field reporter Geoff Lawrence, who died recently at the age of 74 following sudden health complications.
For more than 25 years, Geoff served as a trusted voice for anglers throughout the New York region, providing reports and insights that helped generations of fishermen stay connected to the pulse of the local bite. An avid bottom fisherman, Geoff spent countless days on the water from the western reaches of Long Island to the East End, always eager to share information, techniques and stories from the fishing grounds he loved.
Known for his extensive knowledge, willingness to help fellow anglers and genuinely kind nature, Geoff earned the respect and friendship of countless fishermen, captains, tackle shop owners and industry professionals over the years. His passion for fishing was evident in every report he submitted and every conversation he shared.
Geoff’s contributions to The Fisherman and the local fishing community will not be forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, friendship and a deep love for the sport that touched so many lives.
