4th Annual Long Island Fly Fishing Expo
If you are interested in fly fishing salt or freshwater, or looking to up your game, or are interested in getting started in the sport, look no further than the 4th Annual Long Island Fly Fishing Expo. It takes place this Saturday, March 16th at the Radisson Hotel, 110 Vanderbilt Motor Pkwy in Hauppauge and features some of the best fly fishermen and fly tiers in the region. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is plenty of free parking, a large exhibit hall, an 80-seat presentation theater for seminars and the Film Festival, two additional break-out rooms for presentations and an outdoor casting area.
This is a wonderful way to learn about fly fishing for the first time, for experienced fly rod anglers to hone their skills, to learn fly tying, and to hear from professional fly fishermen. Saltwater Fishing Expo
What has become the Northeast’s premier saltwater fishing event kicks off the region’s angling season this Friday, March 15 and runs through Sunday with hundreds of exhibits featuring many national tackle manufacturers, the newest boating and fishing products, dozens of free seminars presented by both nationally recognized anglers and local experts including Captains Paul Hebert and Dave Carraro of National Geographic’s hit show Wicked Tuna, Capt. Al Ristori, Nick Honachefsky, Capt. Frank Crescitelli, Jim Freda and more. Seminars will cover a wide range of topics including surf casting, inshore fishing, offshore and canyon fishing, bait rigging, rod building and repair and travel charters.
The annual three-day event will showcase more than 230 exhibitors selling hundreds of saltwater fishing products, from new boats and kayaks, to thousands of accessories including fishing rods, reels and lures. The annual event also features a casting pond, a Fishing 101 Interactive Center where experts will be available at stations throughout the show to provide one-on-one and hands-on demonstrations covering knot tying, bait rigging, reel maintenance, rod building and repair, pouring your own molds, mojo fishing 101, fly tying and more. Frank Crescitelli of the TV show The Fin Chasers. Sunday is Family Day when the first 100 children 11 and younger will receive a free rod and reel upon entry and all will receive completely free admission into the expo.
