The 13th Annual Ward Melville High School Fishing Expo is set to return to Ward Melville High School in East Setauket on Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8, bringing one of Long Island’s largest and most anticipated fishing events back for another year.
What began as a modest school fundraiser has grown into a premier regional show that draws anglers from across Long Island and the tri-state area. The two-day Expo will feature more than 200 vendors and over 300 tables filled with saltwater and freshwater tackle, custom rods, lures, rigs, apparel, conservation groups, fishing clubs, and flea-market-style gear.
Seminars will run throughout both days in multiple locations within the school, where top captains and local fishing experts will share techniques and insights on surf, inshore, freshwater, and offshore fishing to help anglers prepare for the 2026 season.
A signature highlight of the Expo is the massive raffle, with proceeds supporting the Ward Melville High School Fishing Club’s education, outreach, and on-the-water programs. Raffle prizes are expected to range from fishing gear and tackle to trips and custom rods, with all net proceeds helping keep club activities affordable for its members.
Sunday’s schedule also includes a youth-focused feature: a Youth Tackle Giveaway for ages 5–18. The first 150 youth anglers who complete a scavenger hunt around the show will receive free tackle and goodies — a standout opportunity for young anglers to start the season with new gear.
Admission to the Expo is FREE both days, and hours are 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Sunday. Food trucks will be on site throughout the weekend, and a free shuttle will operate from a nearby satellite parking area to help accommodate the expected crowds.Keep in mind The Fisherman Magazine will be present both days at the event and will be doing new and renewal subscriptions to the magazine.
