On Saturday, January 27, 2018, youth anglers from The Fisherman/Steiger Craft Boats Youth Angler Showcase gathered at the New York Boat Show for a special day of recognition, collecting a goody bag filled with tackle courtesy of Tsunami.
During the 2017 season, Steiger Craft Boats and The Fisherman Magazine partnered to showcase the next generation of young men and women, boys and girls, who are out there getting in done on the fishing grounds. Each week from June the end of September, we featured a new young angler on the pages of The Fisherman who were then sent a t-shirt and collection of fishing books from The Fisherman Library for appearing.
At the New York Boat Show, Steiger namesake Alan Steiger hosted a little get-together of the esteemed anglers, presenting each with their special prize package from Tsunami. Also on-hand for the Saturday festivities at the Javits Center in Manhattan was Dream Boat Grand Champion Dave Wissemann, the winner of the 2017 Grand Prize, a Steiger Craft 21 DV Miami with Yamaha 200 HP Outboard Motor, a Furuno GPS Plotter/Sounder Model GP1670F, an Engel EN80 Cooler; and a fish mount from Global Fish Mounts of one the fish entered.
The Fisherman Magazine and Steiger Craft are partnering again in 2018 with the “subscribers only” Dream Boat Fishing Challenge slated to kick off again on May 1, 2018.
