There are lots of exciting new models hitting the sales floor in 2026, with new techy upgrades and sleek layouts that favor the angler. If you’re in the market for a new vessel or if you just like to stay up-to-date on all the innovation that fuels the competitive market for saltwater fishing boats; you can find it all here, compiled into one comprehensive article.
CONTENDER
I stopped by the Contender booth at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show to check out the buzz surrounding one of Contender’s most popular models, the 39ST, which just got its biggest upgrade in more than a decade, with a new console, hard top and leaning post designed with input from captains, tournament anglers and craftsmen who know what it takes to win. This rebirth of sorts isn’t just “new dimensions,” but instead is a captain’s environment built for control, comfort and confidence at the helm. The Contender 39ST’s new console is built to command – “bigger, smarter and roomier” – with 5 inches of additional width and 2 inches longer to provide even more protection from spray and weather without sacrificing cockpit space.

Improved visibility has been achieved by making the console 1-1/2 inches lower for improved sightlines, giving captains a clearer view when underway. The clean and modern helm area is accented by a sleek acrylic electronics face cover that accommodates up to two 22-inch multi-function display screens. Additional accessible storage is provided via an oversized lighted glovebox, plus molded-in dash trays keep essentials at your fingertips. Three access compartments provide seamless service to all wiring and electronics.
The new innovative hardtop design features an integrated molded-in radio box for flush-mounting overhead VHFs or additional screens, thus keeping your helm uncluttered. Integrated speaker and lighting pockets feature a totally clean design, with no exposed bolts or clutter. Other nuances of the updated 39ST include an ergonomic leaning post, with all-new mezzanine seating a more comfort when underway. The insulated cooler is 50% larger than before, plus there’s tackle storage everywhere, including tap-style compartments under helm seats, on leaning post sides and behind the mezzanine seat. The design team also added some “smarter movement” to the mix, with a more rounded design for easier movement around the deck, even in the heat of battle.
GRADY-WHITE
Grady has introduced the next-gen version of a fan favorite for 2026, replacing the classic Express 330 with the all-new Express 340. I had the chance to jump aboard and inspect the details of this beautiful Carolina girl and she offers luxury and capabilities that her older sister could only dream of in her past life. The Grady-White engineers have really shown their depth with this new layout that replaces the original center helm arrangement with a more ergonomic starboard side steering station. This move frees up significant pass-through space on the centerline for captain and crew to traverse from the bridge deck to the cockpit and back without the central choke point of the previous 330 model’s layout.

According to Grady’s Senior Product Designer Christion Carraway, “When the Express 330 was introduced in 2001 it was the first outboard sportfishing cabin boat of its kind. Through the years it continued to be a winner with its classic design, amazing ride compliments of the SeaV2 hull and Grady-White’s continuous improvement philosophy. In this remodel, the new 340 preserves our sportfishing heritage but with an added level of luxury and comfort our customers will not find in any other boats in this class.” To support this mission, there are four gunwale-mount rodholders, with an additional quartet easily accessible via side racks on the tower legs. The transom cap includes a large 166-quart insulated fishbox with overboard drain and a 30-gallon recirculating livewell, in addition to another 87-quart insulated box that can be used for a variety of chilly tasks.
The expansive cabin has been expertly redesigned with increased width and headroom that comfortably sleeps four, with two in the large v-berth that doubles as a spacious table for five and two in the generous aft berth. This unique design incorporates custom luxury-lounge backrests integrated into the bolsters to make relaxing in the cabin an elevated experience. Other upgrades include plentiful storage through expanded cabinetry and creative use of space and natural light from an oversized hatch and privacy sky light. These accommodations are accessed by a single sliding door at the helm that opens into the center of the cabin for improved flow.
The standard features are too lengthy to detail here, so be sure to go to The Fisherman’s website to see my video product review.
PURSUIT
Pursuit launched their new S388 Sport at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show back in October, and The Fisherman was there to jump aboard. One of the most impressive features to my eyes was the triple raised mezzanine bolstered seating forward, complemented by a trio of cushioned mezzanine style seats facing aft, with all six of these positions totally weather protected by the S388’s strategically engineered fiberglass T-top. Now that’s what I’d call riding in style, especially in a center console layout. With an LOA of 41 feet, 1 inch and standard triple Yamaha F450 XTO engines, she looks fast even sitting still at the dock. According to recent factory tests, she’ll hit a top speed of 59 mph at wide open throttle with her best cruising speed happening at 3,500 revs, where she’ll turn approximately 30 mph at 37 gph, for a net of 0.8 mpg and a range of roughly 350 miles from her 500-gallon tank.

Below deck, the galley boasts two drawer-style refrigerators/freezers, a generous amount of cabin space and amazing water views from the center cabin. Increased storage capacity throughout means that whether you’re out stalking your next big catch or spending quality family time at the sandbar, you’ll have everything you need at your fingertips. Other notable features on the S388 Sport include multiple social zones including a wraparound bow lounge with adjustable backrests, integrated adjustable chaise lounge feature and dedicated audio controls; a fully equipped entertainment center with grill, sink, fridge and dedicated storage; optional Seakeeper system and air-conditioned helm with triple seats and advanced Garmin electronics; a spacious cabin with abundant natural light, comfortable overnight accommodations and a well-appointed galley and head.
Fishing amenities abound, including a 36-gallon livewell, in-floor fishboxes, tackle storage, premium outriggers and a starboard dive door with removable ladder; a power-retractable sunshade, 50-amp shore power cord and abundant hidden storage solutions; tempered glass hull side windows which are aligned with the console sidelights to create sightlines from the center console out through the hull for unique water views when underway.
COBIA
Cobia is in the midst of a tidal wave of new product introductions. Last year we covered a quartet of 26 and 28-footers (265 Open, 265 CC, 285 Open and 285 CC). For the 2026 model year, Cobia is continuing the groundswell with the launch of the 245 CC (powered by both single and twins) and 305 CC.
I spent some quality time on the 245 CC – powered by twin F150 Yamahas – down in Fort Lauderdale back in October where The Fisherman team shot a product review video featuring all of her southern charms. Whether angling or cruising the coast with family and friends, the 245 CC adapts with ease. Rated for up to 350 horsepower and built for confident performance in a variety of conditions, it delivers a smooth, stable ride. The 245 CC features a 30-gallon livewell, twin tuna doors, dedicated tackle storage, over a dozen rod holders, insulated fishboxes and more, making it a serious fish-catching machine.

For family time, the 245 CC offers a spacious transom with fold-down bench seating, a comfortable bow seating area, a built-in trash bin and an optional bow sunshade, all optimized for comfort without compromising deck space. For those seeking extra ease and comfort, the 245 CC is offered with an optional Seakeeper Ride system, enabling automatic trim adjustment while underway. This delivers a more relaxed and totally dialed in ride, no matter what the current sea conditions.
The new 305 CC is equally as fishy as her little sister, but has even more room, comfort and seaworthiness to make things happen. Serious anglers will find all the features they expect in the Cobia 305 CC including dual insulated transom livewells, quad-insulated and macerated in-floor fish boxes, dedicated tackle storage and strategically placed rod holders throughout. Meanwhile, families will appreciate plush forward seating, a convertible bow lounge, fold-away cockpit seating and an oversized forward-entry head with 6 feet, 2 inches of standing headroom.
STEIGER CRAFT
Al Steiger has designed a new purpose-built layout for their popular 23 and 25-foot center consoles, the Chatham. Featuring a unique three-sided “doghouse” helm station, this variation on the classic center console theme offers added weather protection and will appeal to hardcore coastal anglers for inshore, near shore and offshore duty. This layout was originally designed for the dealers in the Cape Cod area, but its popularity has gradually found its way back to the land of its birth on Long Island as well as other spots like the Jersey Shore and South Florida.

If you are a center console fan but want to maximize your fishing experience, the Steiger 23 and 25 Chatham will hit all of your fishing feature hot buttons. The Chatham layout offers full 360 degrees of unencumbered fishability to the max! One of the outstanding features of all Steiger boats and their local boat builder mindset is their modular flexibility to install exactly what you want, exactly where you want it. You can add or delete features to suite your particular coastal sport fishing needs. The 23 Chatham features a classic notched outboard transom that supports a single XXL 30-inch shaft outboard and she measures 23 feet LOA with an 8-1/2-half foot beam, tipping the scales at a beefy 4,600 pounds. A Yamaha F250 V6 is standard power, but prospective owners can upgrade to the popular F300 for max performance.
The 23 Chatham’s generous 124-gallon fuel tank will take her a long way between fill-ups and offers over 230 miles of range. Standard features on this trailerable sportfisher include a six-pack of pop-up stainless steel cleats; under gunwale LED cockpit lighting; compass; three S/S cupholders; dual batteries and switch; leaning post with four rocket launchers and tackle storage cabinet; porta-pottie; raw water washdown; recessed trim tabs; five-rod overhead rocket launcher in the fiberglass T-top; four gunwale mount rodholders; under-gunwale rod racks port and starboard with sinker trays; a two-tone cockpit sole (tan or gray); plus a boarding step box. The larger 255 Chatham offers even more fisharound space with a long list of standard and optional features.
NORTHCOAST
NorthCoast’s 415HT is the queen of their fleet. The hull features an overall length of 46 feet, 1 inch (with quad Yamaha F300 XSB outboards, bracket and standard bow pulpit) supported by a 12-foot, 11-inch beam and a deep-vee running bottom that tapers back to an aggressive 24 degrees of deadrise aft. This is the rock on which she is built. However, the 415HT is offered in both fishing and a cruising base layout, with a host of accommodations that support each specific mission. Counting her quad outboards and 612 gallons of fuel onboard, she’ll tip the scales north of 24,550 pounds fully loaded, which will enable owners to fish or cruise further, longer, with more crew onboard and in total comfort.

According to Northcoast Boats Brand and C&C Fiberglass Components owner Jose DaPonte “This is the first model where we have partnered with an outside design firm and we are confident the new Northcoast 415HT will exceed expectations on every level.” Langan Design Partners in Newport, RI was selected to work the NorthCoast team on the new 415HT.
Although Northcoast is no stranger to building seaworthy craft in the downeast tradition that can tolerate the New England coast’s extreme weather conditions, the 415HT is a radical paradigm shift from the 255, 285 and 315HT models that we have tested in the past; she is on a totally different level. According to the Langan Design Partners, “The hull sports a deep-vee profile with 24 degrees of deadrise at the transom, while keeping a subtle round-off at the keel, which gives the hull a little more lift aft and allows for a smoother transition to planing. The hull’s volume is optimized to handle multiple outboards on the transom.”
According to factory tests, she’ll hit a top speed in the mid-50s with quad F300s outboards. That is some serious fast-lane traveling for a comfortable cabin sportfisher that exceeds 12 tons of displacement.
EASTERN BOATS
Sisu boats have been bouncing around northeast coastal areas ever since Designer Royal Lowell drew up their lines back in the 1970s. Originally, the three hulls that he drafted were 22, 26 and 30 feet in length. The majority of these were slated to be work boats and run single inboard powerplants at displacement speeds. Fast-forward to 2024, and the company that originally manufactured the Sisu lineup is long gone and the molds were sold off, never to be seen or heard from again…that is until the 22 Sisu mold was purchased by Eastern Boats a few years back and the darling little 22 Sisu is back in business, albeit with a few contemporary tweaks.

Modern composite materials plus a couple of design tweaks have made her even better. Recessed chines reduce spray and add dynamic lift to her round chines as she accelerates, while a transom-mounted outboard frees up a huge amount of usable space in her cockpit. Owners can choose a traditional framed bass boat windshield with Bimini top at the helm or an open-sided hardtop pilothouse. On deck, the only fixtures are helm and companion pedestal seats mounted on storage boxes that double as aft-facing lower seats. The rest of the cockpit can accommodate a full-transom fishbox with a cushioned seat on top, a couple of folding chairs, or a portable livewell.
The open pilothouse offers shelter from sun and weather, with optional roll-down sides and rocket launcher on top for additional rod storage. The cabin offers a six-foot, nine-inch V-berth with a portable toilet and 69-inches of standing headroom. Performance is great with a modest 115hp four-stroke outboard, fueled by a 60-gallon tank. With numerous standard and optional features, this New Hampshire girl continues to be a winner.
WELLCRAFT
With 70 years in the boating business, Wellcraft has made some significant contributions to the world of sport boats and coastal fishing. That trend continues with the introduction of a trio (Speedster, T-top and pilot house Explorer) of new 28-foot models that all share the identical, Euro-styled, “hatchet bow” deep-vee stepped-hull design. The new Wellcraft 28 models are built to turn every day on the water into a new adventure and adapt to a variety of lifestyles. To achieve this, Wellcraft imagined a quartet of distinct aft cockpit configurations on the new 28 hull (Lounge, Barracuda, Relax and Sleeper).

Anglers will appreciate the Barracuda layout, where the boat reveals a distinctly fishy character. A clever fold-up seating bench is equipped with a live well, insulated fishbox, tackle drawers and various rod holding solutions that turn the aft deck into a true family fishing platform. By rethinking the aft cockpit as the beating heart of the boat, Wellcraft ensures that every model can adapt to the way its owners want to enjoy their coastal experience.
Every model benefits from the Wellcraft Infujection Structure Engineering (W.I.S.E.) technology, an infusion/injection combo where the hull and stringers are molded as a single part. This innovation delivers a lighter, stiffer and stronger structure with an optimized power-to-weight ratio and reduced environmental impact. To build the 28-foot line, Wellcraft has chosen to partner with Navia, the renowned Helsinki-based specialist in stepped hulls. Thanks to this hull design, the result is a boat that planes and accelerates faster, runs drier and handles rough seas with absolute confidence.
With single or twin outboards, the Wellcraft 28 can exceed 50 knots while offering excellent fuel efficiency and superior stability. The one-level walkaround deck and wide 9-1/2-foot beam ensures seamless circulation, while the Wellcraft 28 T-Top further adapts to all conditions with a choice of High or Sport windshield options.
VALHALLA
The news from Viking’s Valhalla Boatworks is that their V-28 Bay and V-29 Hybrid model prototypes introduced last year are now in full production. Big boat features are apparent on the V-29 Hybrid with available Seakeeper 1, bow thruster, thru-stem claw anchor with windlass, Release helm chairs and an electric head with overboard discharge. These combine with bay boat features such as trolling motors, power poles and jack plates. The V-29 also features a 180-gallon fuel capacity, so range is maximized with dual Mercury V6 225 four-strokes, a pair of Mercury V8 300 Verados or twin Yamaha V6 F300s.

The V-29 will excel at her multi-function role due to its fish-focused layout that does not sacrifice seating and comfort. The aft flip-up bench seat, numerous helm seat options, console lounge and available forward bench seats can take a bunch of folks to the beach when it’s time to play. The V-29 features a pair of 26-gallon livewells on the aft casting deck, an optional in-deck 40-gallon livewell aft of the helm seat, plus an optional helm seating module with 45-gallon livewell. The V-29 also includes two insulated in-deck fish boxes in the cockpit that pump overboard, plus twin mid-ship lockable storage boxes that will fit a total of 10 rods (five per). A large in-deck hatch at the bow adds to the onboard storage. Other standards include dual flush mounted 19-inch MFDs or a single 24-inch multi-function display from Garmin or Simrad; backlit labeled Bocatech switches; plus an overhead electronics pod to house a fusion stereo, VHF radio and additional accessories.
The new V-55 Sport Yacht was also recently introduced and takes the proven performance of the V-55 center console hull and merges it with a contemporary cabin design to appeal to those seeking added weather protection. Powered by four Mercury 600hp outboards, the V-55 SY runs on the same Michael Peters Stepped-V Ventilated Tunnel (SVVT) running surface, delivering a fast, stable and efficient ride.
WORLD CAT
North Carolina based World Cat has introduced two new felines into the fishing fleet for 2026, the 265CC-X and the 265DC-X. For this review, we’ll focus on the center console version of this platform. The one thing that jumps out from the spec sheet and from having jumped onboard this boat in Fort Lauderdale is the fact that the 265CC-X sports a wider 9-foot beam. Earlier catamarans in this size range were typically limited to 8 feet, 6 inches of width. Stretching it out another half a foot helps with stability and should soften the snap roll effect of past designs when travelling in beam or quartering seas.

The World Cat 26CC-X makes full use of her 25.5 feet length with a roomy cockpit area. Fuel capacity is 180 gallons (twin 90-gallon tanks) and her dry weight with a pair of 200hp four strokes is approximately 7,200 pounds. Her fishing features and comfort abound, with a starboard transom 30-gallon livewell, port transom 120-quart insulated fish box, a pair of pull-down transom jump seats, forward access to a console head, electric windless with 300 feet of rode/chain and anchor, fiberglass T-top with spreader lights, plus an electronics package that includes a single 12-inch Garmin MFD screen.
Recent factory tests with a pair of Mercury 200hp V6 four-strokes indicated that she’ll hit a top speed of almost 49 mph at wide open throttle and offers an extended sweet spot in the cruising band that ranges from 2,500 through 4,500 rpm, where this cat will glide along at anywhere from 19 to 38 mph in a tight 1.9 to 2.3 mpg fuel efficiency zone. This offers a lot of flexibility to match your boat’s speed to the ever-changing sea conditions and not pay a penalty in fuel economy, one of the typical advantages that catamarans offer when compared to monohulls of the same size and weight. The 180-gallon fuel capacity gives this feline the ability to head to the 100-fathom line and back, with the speed to get there quickly and the safety of twin power.
ALBEMARLE
The new 45 Carolinian has the look worthy of her name with Carolina flare, classic tumblehome aft and a soft broken sheer. The hull is vacuum-infused with vinylester resin and composite core, making her incredibly strong and the deck and additional fiberglass components are glassed together to create Albemarle’s signature one-piece construction. She boasts a unique layout that combines hardcore fishing features, abundant seating and a surprisingly spacious and well-appointed interior for overnighting and extended cruising. Triple 600hp Mercury V12 outboard power provides fast cruising speeds, maneuverability and shallow draft, while freeing up space in the hull to accommodate mechanical equipment and a truly livable interior.

The interior is as beautiful as it functional with black walnut cabinetry, solid surface countertops, Ultraleather fabrics and tracked Majilite headliner and wall panels. The forward dinette converts to a double bunk and filler cushions transform the U-shaped aft lounge into a queen berth. The port side galley features refrigerator and freezer drawers, recessed single burner stove top, microwave and stainless steel sink. An enclosed shower stall, sink and marine head round out the list of necessities for comfortable overnights aboard.
The 98-square-foot cockpit is designed for blue water pelagic battles and is well equipped with a standard transom livewell, twin massive in-deck fish boxes and a starboard side tuna door. The step up on the forward end houses insulated boxes, which are set up as an Eskimo ice machine dump and bait freezer on hull #1. The mezzanine seating provides a great place to watch baits and it hinges open to provide access to the mechanical space. This creates great service access for the 13.5kw Onan genset, Seakeeper 6, Spot Zero double pass water maker and other onboard equipment.
BAYLINER TROPHY
Bayliner’s fishing boat fleet includes a trio of trailerable center consoles (20, 22, 24). Bayliner also offers the Trophy T22SC. This Trophy’s side console layout is a first-of-its-kind within the Bayliner lineup offering consumers a multi-purpose boat with versatility for fishing or cruising to your favorite beachside hideaway.
The Trophy T22SC offers a spacious layout with fore and aft casting decks with ample dry storage, plus a swing-out window and walkway on the port side that allows the crew to move forward to access the comfy console bench and wraparound bow seating complete with backrests. This neophyte is based on the proven 22-foot, 7-inch by 8-1/2-foot beam, 18-degree aft deadrise hull that is shared by her T22CC sister, but the side console variant offers a larger fuel tank (80-gal, vs 65-gal for the CC) for increased range. The T22SC is available in multiple color options and optional package upgrades, including the Fishing Package, Bimini Package, Comfort Package and Tech Package.

Some of her notable attributes include a self-bailing design that keeps the cockpit dry and makes end of day cleanups a lot easier; livewell, insulated fishbox, ample gunwale and under-gunwale rod storage; plus numerous comfort features like generous seating fore-and-aft, eight built-in cupholders, along with room for an optional porta-pottie marine toilet under the console. The T22SC’s standard features list continues with a waterproof AM/FM Bluetooth stereo; removable cushions; doublewide aft bench seat; a swim platform with telescoping boarding ladder; plus a galvanized trailer. Prospective owners have their choice of Mercury four-stroke outboard power that includes the standard in-line four 150 to the 200/V6 or 250/V8.
BLACKFIN
Blackfin recently launched their all-new 262 Hybrid Bay Boat, delivering the perfect balance of offshore capability and inshore versatility. Designed for both serious anglers and families seeking unforgettable experiences on the water, the 262 Hybrid boasts a spacious layout, offering ample room for fishing, cruising and entertainment. The overwide 9-foot, 2-inch beam offers plenty of elbow room and cockpit space onboard to perform a variety of missions. For avid anglers, the Blackfin 262 Hybrid is packed with premium fishing amenities, including ample rod storage for all your gear; dual aerated 5-gallon port and starboard bow pitch wells to keep single baits fresh; dual 30-gallon aft wells to keep multiple types of baits lively; wide, sturdy bow and stern casting decks; an aft in-floor fishbox and bucket storage; standard bait prep/rigging station with fresh and raw water washdown hoses.

Blackfin’s twin step hull design provides superior performance, allowing the boat to remain on plane at low speeds, plane quickly with minimal bow rise and maintain stability with its large chines. The hull responds like a traditional straight-bottom boat at low speeds but benefits from stepped hull efficiency at higher speeds. With the hull shear being taller at the bow, this improves visibility for fishing, cast netting and rough water handling, reinforcing the “Hybrid” bay style for inshore and offshore versatility. Multiple bow layouts are designed for flexibility, utilizing the same deck. The Seastar digital switching system integrates all boat functions, including battery switches, through a key FOB. The sturdy hardtop frame features sturdy bonded glass and allows for easy addition of an optional upper station.
The 262 HB’s console design accommodates big screen electronics and provides maximum headroom down below, with easy access to rigging. The aft seat allows bilge access to critical components to ensure easy inspection and maintenance. Rigged with a standard Mercury V10 Outboard with 10-inch jackplate, top speed approaches 60 mph, with comfortable cruising speeds in the 30 to 40 mph range, fueled by a 100-gallon tank for extended range.
BOSTON WHALER
The latest Boston whaler to hit the marinas was the 330 Vantage dual console, introduced last season. Joining her little sisters the 210, 240 and 280, the 330 Vantage is the new flagship in this crossover fleet and will be equally adept at entertaining family and friends at the beach and the local sandbar, as she would be running out the inlet and bending rods with a variety of inshore and near offshore species.
“The 330 was designed for our consumers who enjoy a variety of activities on the water. From fishing and watersports to cruising and entertaining, the 330 does it all,” said Lenn Scholz, President, Boston Whaler, adding “We are thrilled to officially unveil the 330 here in Fort Lauderdale and complete the next evolution of our Vantage lineup with this incredible model.”

Built on Boston Whaler’s legacy of durability, safety and performance, the 330 offers a number of advantages, including versatility: The 330 dual-console layout provides ample enhanced seating and storage, a customizable cockpit area with fishing and entertaining amenities and the flexibility to transition from a full day on the water to a dinner outing. The 330 offers weather protection with optional full height glass or standard half glass windshield, along with a range of luxurious features, including plush seating, a spacious cockpit, and a well-appointed portside cabin with head. Optional amenities like a grill, refrigerator, and sunshades enhance the onboard experience.
Equipped with powerful standard V8 Mercury 300hp engines or optional V10 Mercury 400hp engines with or without joystick controls, the 330 delivers excellent performance and predictable handling. Seamlessly integrated Simrad technology for precise navigation and enhanced onboard control, other optional electronics upgrades are available to further customize the 330.

One of the latest Carolina Skiff models is their E Series DLX. This popular skiff from yesteryear is a reimagined and improved version of their classic DLX model, designed to redefine your coastal adventures with enhanced durability, proven stability and unmatched affordability. Crafted with precision and built to last, the E-Series DLX boasts an upgraded construction that ensures it can handle the rigors of your aquatic escapades and are built to order for each customer.

The non-skid raised forward casting deck is equipped with a 24V trolling motor plug and two 13- by 24-inch hatches. The non-skid aft casting deck includes an 11- by 19-inch hatch for a bait well insert with 500 gph pump, plus two 13- by 24-inch hatches. The cockpit seating includes a stainless steel seat frame with an adjustable backrest, cushion set and a 70-quart cooler down under. The large console includes binnacle controls with wiring harness (for Yamaha, Mercury or Suzuki outboards with a max of 150hp); full instrumentation (speed, volt, tach); mechanical control and steering cables; a quick disconnect windshield; stainless steel grab rail and steering wheel; electric horn; three-packs of vertical rodholders set on either side of the center console; plus a pair of black grab handles that flank the front console seat.
Other standards include one bow eye; two stern eyes; four raised cleats; a 1,200 gph bilge pump; LED bow and stern navigation lights; rigid rub rail with insert; premium gel coat; a swim platform; plus a 12-gallon portable fuel tank set under the center console. Whether you’re cruising through calm waters or navigating challenging tides, this boat is ready to stand the test of time. All Carolina Skiffs are now backed with a 10-year limited structural hull warranty and a 5-year bow-to-stern component warranty.
CAYMAS
One of the most interesting boats that I saw in Fort Lauderdale was a new hybrid from Caymas, the 24HB. This is the latest addition to their acclaimed hybrid series lineup of boats that includes larger 26 and 28-foot models. The 24 HB is designed for the hard-core angler and this boat doesn’t compromise on comfort, making its perfect choice for both the fishing enthusiast and families alike. Starting aft and working forward, the stern casting deck converts into a double wide bench seat on the centerline with flanking 35-gallon livewells port and starboard. The standard leaning post/rocket launcher offers comfortable seating for two at the helm with a quartet of vertical rodholders on the backside. There are also four additional vertical rodholders molded into the starboard side of the center console.

There’s plenty of seating for the crew and family in the bow area. A Yeti cooler features a heavily cushion seat bottom and backrest and the twin raised bench seats port and starboard feature plug-in seat backs to make the ride out and back as comfortable as possible. There’s plenty of dry storage space for your safety gear and other sundries under each of these raised forward boxes. Moving forward there’s another live well in addition to a vertical anchor locker in the forepeak, plus a 45-gallon insulated fishbox under the forward cockpit sole. The dash panel offers plenty of room for twin 12-inch MFDs to handle all of your marine electronics needs. The fiberglass hardtop offers welcome protection from the elements and there’s a seven-rod rocket launcher up top, two of which are angled outboard to each side to act as trolling rod holders.
The 24 HB features a Michael Peters patented SVVT double-stepped tunnel hull design and is backed by a limited lifetime hull warranty and 3-year limited component warranty. It offers 100% composite construction, with no structural wood anywhere onboard, with a Tri-Core composite transom, high performance resin and barrier coat, hand-laid fiberglass hull and a zero-flex fully foamed finished stringer grid system with integrated chase tubes to making rigging and running wires a breeze.
DEFIANCE BOATS
Defiance Boats based in Bremerton, WA constructs some of the toughest boats in the Pacific Northwest, backed by a lifetime structural warranty on their hulls. The boats that most folks associate with Defiance are the Admiral pilot house series that includes the 220 NT (notched transom design), 220/250/270 EX models, plus the 29 Guadalupe. Defiance also manufactures the Commander series of center consoles with 220 NT, 220 EX and 250 EX models.

Two of the more interesting recent additions to the fleet are the 210 Catalina that we discussed last year, plus her new big sister, the just-introduced 240 Catalina CC. This west coast girl offers plenty of internal cockpit space, with an overall length of 24 feet supported by a generous 8-foot, 6-inch beam. The deep-vee running bottom tapers back to 21 degrees aft and she is fueled by a substantial 135-gallon tank, so she’ll take you out and back to the 50-fathom line, weather permitting, with plenty to spare after running all day from sunup to sundown.
Like her little sister, the Catalina 240 provides a surprising amount of fishing space along with comfortable seating for a six-pack of adults, with thigh-high cockpit freeboard and all of the features that serious anglers are looking for in a boat, like a leaning post/rocket launcher; flush-mount stainless steel rodholders; livewell; insulated fishboxes; trim tabs; hydraulic steering with stainless steel steering wheel; removable cockpit coaming bolsters and more. Whether it’s a day offshore or a day at the beach, the Defiance 240 Catalina will deliver in style. Optional features include a fabric T-top with six overhead rocket launchers, raw water washdown, windlass, stainless steel boarding ladder, fixed auxiliary kicker engine bracket, plus an onboard battery charger.
EDGEWATER
EdgeWater has recently launched their long-awaited 250CC, a completely new boat specifically developed to meet customer demand in the 25-foot segment in North America. The launch marks the most significant product renewal within EdgeWater since 2020 and the first since Nimbus Group acquired the company in the spring of 2023. According to the intel I gathered at in Ford Lauderdale, the Nimbus Group intends to continue renewing EdgeWater’s product offerings.

The 250CC replaces the previous bestseller, the 245CC, and has been designed to meet the requests expressed by dealers and customers. The boat features an unsinkable hull built using vacuum infusion technology and is equipped with a range of highly requested features. According to VP Nimbus Group North America Justin Joyner, “The 250CC combines the qualities our customers say matter most – space, storage, fishability and all-weather performance. It is not only the 25 largest in its class, but also the best equipped for all conditions. Our newest center console is a true triple-threat, equally confident inshore, nearshore and offshore.”

EVERGLADES
Everglades debuted their first-ever crossover 7-series boat at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, the 367CX. I was able to jump aboard to take a closer look and the first interesting feature that jumped out at me was that this was a sporty fishboat that was not a dual console; it featured a unique side door arrangement positioned to port of a full console/cabin that enabled passengers to move forward, where triple cushioned, uber-comfy lounge seats awaited them to travel in style. When traversing in heavy weather, the travel alley door and windscreen can be locked up tight and the 367CX offers the comfort of a full cabin boat, which is nice! The Everglades 367CX is a versatile 36-foot crossover cabin boat that blends offshore fishing performance with refined comfort for cruising and entertaining.

The Everglades 367CX brings superior performance, elegant design and full-spectrum versatility to the party and is the ideal boat for serious anglers, coastal cruisers and active families who want to do it all without compromise. The unique starboard/center cabin accommodations include L-shaped cushioned seating with foldable backrest and storage; a filler cushion to create a twin sized berth; wood grained storage cabinets with solid surface countertops; finished flooring with bilge access hatch; a lockable cabin entry door with stainless hardware and dark smoke acrylic window; LED lighting; an opening port light; carbon monoxide and smoke detectors; plus latching access hatches to the backside of console electronics.
Triple helm seats with armrests, bolsters and 180-degree rotating seat sliders will keep captain and crew comfortable when underway. The rotating mezzanine seating features aft or forward-facing seating with folding footrests, armrests, handrails, cup holders, a sliding insulated cooler, solid surface countertop, sink and storage. The 367CX measures 37 feet, 3 inches in length, with a 10-foot, 10-inch beam, tipping the scales at 15,500 pounds dry. Its 20-degree aft deadrise deep vee hull is fueled by a 330-gallon tank, with 40 gallons of fresh water and a 20-gallon holding tank.
FINSEEKER
Crownline’s Finseeker fishing boat lineup has been making some serious waves over the past few seasons, with the fleet growing to include eight models ranging from 20 to 28 feet. One of the most recent additions to the mix is the 245 WA that features a modified 360-degree walk-around for increased fishability. A perfect blend of both fishing and family boat, the 245 WA is trailerable and has a small cabin area with more than 6 feet of standing headroom, U-shaped seating with filler cushions to form a comfortable sleeping area, a portable head, microwave and sink.

The cockpit area seats six, with flip-up benches aft and to port to clear the cockpit when it’s time to bend the rods. The fiberglass hard top has rear-facing LED work lights, four overhead rocket launcher rodholders and walk-around grab rails, providing protection from the elements during a full day on the water. Four flush-mount rodholders in the gunwales and aft are standard. Twin in-deck insulated fishboxes set in the aft cockpit sole will chill out your catch and feature a convenient macerator pumpout switch located in the side wall of the gunwales nearby.
The value-added standard features package includes twin Garmin 9-inch MFDs; multi-frequency transducer; an aluminum trailer; windlass with rope and chain; fiberglass hardtop with overhead four-rod rocket launcher; dual tackle boxes below the rear helm seat; deluxe bucket seats at the helm and companion positions with flip up bolsters; an AGM battery upgrade; and much more. Stepping down below via bi-fold entry doors and a lift-up hatch to prevent bumping your noggin, the cabin is complete with a freshwater sink built into a small vanity with a storage drawer, comfy vee-berth, opening portlight and 20-inch overhead hatch for both direct natural light and ventilation, plus a porta-pottie marine head.
INVINCIBLE
Launched last season, Invincible’s 36 Catamaran is raising the bar for high-performance fishing cats with a host of new and exciting features. The first of these is extreme range. With a massive 606-gallon fuel capacity and roughly 1.1 mpg fuel economy at an impressive 38+ mph, a true 600-mile range, even when travelling in the fast lane, is a reality. To make this mid-30s twin hulled sportfisher up to the task, Pete Melvin, CEO of Morrelli & Melvin Design & Engineering stated, ”For the 36 Catamaran, we focused significant design resources on making the boat extra dry and soft riding, while still maintaining the best-in-class performance and handling characteristics that Invincible catamarans are so well known for.” To make this happen, its innovative hull design features a raised chine, wave diffuser forward between the sponsons and aggressive style lines that actively deflect spray, ensuring a remarkably dry, soft ride in all sea conditions. The raised chine and carefully crafted style lines work in concert with the 36 Catamaran’s wave arrester system to deliver a dry, controlled ride even when the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Key features on the Invincible 36 Cat include an advanced hull design with superior rough water handling; exceptional stability in all sea conditions; an innovative spray management system for a drier ride; proprietary wave arrester technology for a more comfortable ride without bottoming out or thumping; twin or quad engine configurations for maximum offshore capability; large in-deck insulated fishboxes; oversized cockpit designed for optimal fishing space; full-access side door for easier fish landing; premium fit and finish with concealed hardware; optional removable rod storage in forward under-sole compartments; plus extensive premium options that appeal to serious offshore anglers and family boaters.
Current engine options include Twin 425 Mercury Verados; Twin 450 Yamaha XTO; Twin 450R Mercury Racing (5.44”); Quadruple F300 Yamaha; and Quad 300 Mercury Verado V8s. The Invincible 36 Catamaran is a real beast with an upscale pedigree and can go faster and further, with more reliability and seaworthiness than many conventional boats in the 40-foot range.

NAUTICSTAR
NauticStar recently closed its manufacturing plant in Amory, MS earlier in 2025 and relocated its operations to Washington, NC. This move consolidates all manufacturing under one roof with other brands owned by its parent company, Iconic Marine Group. The Amory plant’s closure is a result of ongoing changes in the boating industry and follows challenges from a tornado in 2023 that damaged the facility. The relocation is intended to improve efficiencies and consolidate production with other Iconic brands like Fountain, Baja and Donzi, also affording better access to in-house design, technology and resources.

Which boats in the NauticStar lineup will be retained and which will be discontinued, if any, remains to be seen as the move and consolidation takes shape. The 244 Bay was the company’s latest introduction, which joined her sisters the 194 Bay, 214 Bay, 214 Shallow Bay, 224 Bay and 274 Bay in this coastal fishing series.

PRIVATEER BOATS
Privateer Boats began its journey under founder Warren Wilkerson in back 1977. For 2026, Privateer offers four models of coastal fishing boats, the 1800 Retriever, the 2100 Roamer II, the 2400 Renegade and the 2800 Sea Prowler.

The 1800 Retriever is a classic open skiff type hull and has become a fan favorite among inshore fisherman and duck hunters due to its shallow draft and stability. This model comes with an open transom but can be customized to include a closed transom and bracket. The 2100 Roamer II offers a little more beef than her little sister, weighing 4,000 to 4,500 pounds with a centerline length of 21 feet, 8 inches, a beam of 8 feet, 4 inches, a shallow draft of 10 to 12 inches and a modified vee deadrise of 13 degrees at the transom. This model features a full transom and outboard bracket and is fueled by a 50-gallon tank. The 2400 Renegade has been a staple in the Privateer line for many years. Its wide 9-foot, 1-inch beam and 13-degree aft deadrise modified vee hull can accommodate heavy loads while remaining stable. Her 7,500-pound weight adds to her rock solid feel when out on the water. Standard fuel capacity on the 2400 Renegade is 95 gallons and she will operate with outboards ranging from 200 to 400 horsepower.
The 2800 Sea Prowler lives up to her namesake and is the bluewater pony in the Privateer fleet. Other notable standards include on-console toggle switches, a phone-saving dash pad and a large shade-providing hardtop with overhead storage.
When it’s time to bend the rods, the LX26 provides additional cockpit depth compared to Sea Born’s quartet of bay boats, giving it big-boat energy and allowing owners to run near shore or offshore in bumpy seas in complete comfort and safety. At the bow, there’s an anchor pulpit and chain, ideal for keeping the boat steady over a wreck or reef. As with any fishing boat, storage is at a premium and the LX26 delivers with ample gear and tackle bins, under-and-in-gunwale rod holders and a rounded port-side aerated baitwell.
SEAPRO
Sea Pro Boats unveiled the new flagship of its growing Family Sandbar Boat fleet at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, the new 265FLX, the first offshore edition of this popular layout. With her 26-foot LOA and 9-foot, 4-inch beam, this center console combines Sea Pro’s offshore capable ride, advanced features and exclusive amenities into the perfect platform for fishing, cruising and relaxing with the family. SEA HUNT
I spoke with Sea Hunt’s national sales manager Robbie Coates at the Fort Lauderdale show a few months back and there’s a lot going on for 2026 for this South Carolina boat builder. At the top of that list is a new Game Fish 27 CB which stands for coffin box. This center console is built on a 27.5-foot length with a wide 9.5-foot beam, rated to carry twin outboards up to 500hp on the transom. Standard power plants on this are Yamaha digital F200s with electric steering. She features a razor-sharp 60-degree entry angle forward the tapers back to 24 degrees amidships and 21-degrees at the transom.

The big feature on this midsized sportfisher is the coffin storage box set forward of the console, which serves as a double bench lounger for crew looking to catch up on their tan, but underneath it features a huge 256-quart insulated storage for icing fish, stowing gear, safety equipment, etc. Port and starboard under-sole fishboxes set aft on either side of the leaning post are also included on this 27-footer and they are 200 quarts each, pumping their icy slurry overboard via a macerator pump. A 40-gallon aquarium style livewell is set under the leading post structure, with an additional 16-gallon transom livewell set in the port corner, complemented by an additional 10-gallon pitch bait livewell forward. Her 180-gallon fuel capacity will take her a long way to the tuna grounds and back and she’ll riding in comfort with her deep-vee running bottom.
Other notable standards include bow and cockpit bolsters, fiberglass T-top with mister system, underwater lights, starboard side entry door, trim tabs with indicators, tackle storage center, China toilet in the private head area under the console, an anchor windlass system, fold-down double wide rear bench seat and a single 12-inch Garmin GPS map display. There’s room for a companion display to be added on the spacious dash panel.
SKEETER
The latest saltwater addition from this Kilgore, TX builder is the SX2350, which expands their Bay Boat fleet to a six-pack of models from 21 to 25 feet in length. Storage abounds on the Skeeter SX2350, with a door on the port side of the console opening to reveal access to your system wiring, battery access and plenty of dry storage for tackle boxes and safety gear. The wide 8-foot, 5-inch beam complements her 22-foot, 9-inch overall length. The raised forward casting deck offers a wide, flat elevated perch to sight cast to your favorite gamefish.

A quartet of flush hatches down below reveal a rod locker to port, and insulated fishbox to starboard, a dry storage locker on the centerline and a vertical anchor locker forward. Another storage area under the cockpit sole forward of the front console seat includes a 14-gallon livewell. The leaning post offers additional stowage under its flip up cushion seat for handy access to your fishing tackle and other requisite accessories. The leaning post also includes a six-rod rocket launcher to keep your outfits out from underfoot but at the ready for any sight casting opportunities. The aft casting deck features twin 20-gallon livewells under each corner hatch, in addition to a flip-up twin bench seat for added crew comfort when underway that includes an ingenious tie-down lid to keep it locked in place when underway. The bench section flips up to enable access to all pumps, plumbing and wiring in the bilge area, which includes a beefy aluminum transom brace that interconnects the transom to the stringer grid to distribute engine torque.
A quartet of power options from Yamaha includes the F200, F200 V6 SHO, F250 and F250 SHO and the 55-gal fuel tank should give you sunup to sundown performance. Notable standard features include a 12-inch manual jackplate; a pair of flush-mount rodholders in the covering boards; Seastar tilt hydraulic steering; and a retractable boarding ladder.

The latest addition to the Solace center console line, the 35CS, is a perfect balance of cutting edge technology, timeless design and unparalleled craftsmanship. This newbie features a dual-step performance hull that provides a smooth, dry ride with precision handling at exceptional speeds. With enhanced fuel efficiency, you can go further and stay longer, all while enjoying the seamless functionality, comfort and safety of the new model. The 35CS measures 35 feet, 4 inches length overall with a 10-foot, 11-inch beam. She features a 47-degree deadrise angle at the bow that tapers back to 22 degrees aft. Her fuel capacity is 435 gallons, with a 34-gallon freshwater capacity and a 20-gallon holding tank for the marine head. The 35 CS offers a pair of insulated fishboxes at 40 and 50 gallons each.

There’s plenty of space down in the cabin with 6 feet, 7 inches of headroom. The aft cockpit is set up perfectly for fishing with twin 40-gallon livewells that flank a removable storage box on the center line. The area easily transforms from fishing to seating with a drop-down doublewide cushioned bench in a matter of seconds. SOUTHPORT
Although there’s reliable scuttlebutt that Southport is ready to introduce a new 42 DC in the next year or so, Southport’s latest introduction is their flagship 38FE, which was introduced mid-season in 2024. Her overall length is listed as 37 feet, 6 inches, with an overwide 13-foot beam. Her hull features a sharp deep-vee angle in the bow that tapers back to 20 degrees of deadrise at the transom. Her dry weight outfitted with a pair of Yamaha F450 XTO V-8 outboards is 18,000 pounds with a draft of 25 inches (engine drives up).

The Southport 38FE’s 425-gallon fuel capacity should give you true 100-fathom range, but that will really depend on how you power her in conjunction with your throttle hand. Optional power on this Maine-built sportfisher covers the gamut from triple Yamaha F450s, a trio of Mercury 400hp V-10 Verados, or a pair of Merc’s 600hp Verado V-12 outboards. The max rating of 1,350 horsepower is achieved by the triple Yamaha F450 XTO set-up and she’ll hit a top speed of 60 mph so equipped, with optimum fuel economy at 3,500 rpm, where she’ll hit 32 mph burning 34.5 gph, for a net of 0.93 mpg.
Notable standard features on the 38 FE include Helm Master EX with joystick controller and integrated auto pilot with the standard twin F450 XTO power setup; Zip Wake 600 automatic trim system; a 12v LiFePO4 house battery bank with 900Ah capacity with battery monitor system and 3,000-watt inverter; 10-gallon hot water heater; triple forward facing mezzanine seating with adjustable helm chairs, port and starboard aft facing helm style chairs and twin double wide foldable aft bench seating for a total of nine crew; twin 22-inch Garmin MFDs, tilt-element through-hull transducer and Garmin GSD 25 sounder module; 35-gallon livewell; Garmin Vesper VHF/AIS with a pair of eight-foot antennas on S/S ratchet mounts; a comfy cabin under the center console that includes a six-foot double berth, refrigerator, enclosed head area, freshwater sink, counter top and microwave; and much more.
SPORTSMAN
A visit to the Sportsman booth at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show confirmed the launch of a new flagship in the fleet, the Open 402 Center Console. This 40-foot debutant is the pinnacle of Sportsman’s evolution, seamlessly blending cutting-edge technology, refined luxury and ultimate functionality. Starting at the transom, twin pressurized aquarium livewells, a rear fold-down seat and a spacious stern fiberglass cockpit table create a versatile fishing and entertainment space. The Total Access Compartment provides effortless bilge access, while the Seakeeper Ride auto control system enhances stability and ride comfort.

At the helm, a blacked-out command center houses dual Garmin GPSMAP 9227 Chartplotters, SeaStar Interact DCM Digital Switching and a Yamaha Command Link Plus CL5 Touchscreen Display for unparalleled control. The quad premium captain’s chairs with integrated fiberglass leaning post offer maximum comfort, while the triple rear-facing mezzanine seating provides additional relaxation space and a great sport to watch the trolling baits. Stepping down into the spacious console interior, a convertible queen-sized berth transforms into a U-shaped lounge, complemented by a full galley with a microwave, Kenyon cooktop, refrigerator and Corian countertops. A private enclosed shower, porcelain head with overboard discharge and a water heater elevate onboard comfort. Her 605-gallon fuel tank will take her a long way, no matter what your preferred power choice.
TIDEWATER
Checking out the Tidewater booth while down in Fort Lauderdale, numerous specs and renderings teased of a new 330 CC that will be launched sometime in early 2026. Until then, the latest Tidewater to hit the docks is the 282 CC Adventure, which features a number of useful attributes that will appeal to families who like to bend a rod, as well as enjoy a variety of water activities with family and friends. Based on a 28-foot, 4-inch long by 9-foot, 8-inch beam running bottom, the topsides layout has been designed to be both fishing and family friendly. Dual aft dive doors port and starboard open up a wealth of possibilities, from hauling big fish aboard, to dropping off or picking up the crew at the beach, to easy dockside entrances and exits.

When it’s time to go fish, dual under-sole insulated fishboxes and aquarium type 30-gallon livewells tucked into each transom corner will get the job done. A fiberglass hardtop is standard, along with a double-wide bench seat tucked in between the livewells that folds out when it’s needed and disappears back into the transom bulkhead when it’s not. The console offers enough space to mount twin big screen MFDs, with a roomy head area down below.
The 282 CC Adventure features twin fore’n’aft cushioned seats on either side of the standard leaning post, plus a double bench forward of the console and twin raised bench seats with cushioned seat backs in the bow. When you add it all up, that’s 10 dedicated spots for the crew to relax when underway. Seakeeper Ride tabs are standard as are a freshwater sink and shower in the head. The Tidewater 282 CC Adventure’s 205-gallon fuel tank will let you fish all day and she’ll run great with a pair of 250s on her transom. If you need to travel in the fast lane, twin 300s are available as an option.
TWIN VEE
For decades, the 22 Twin Vee BayCat was the go-to boat for families, anglers and adventurers who demanded more from their bay boat. Now, the legend returns with enhanced performance, upgraded features and the same unbeatable ride that made it a bestseller. The 22 BayCat blends stability, fuel efficiency, and versatile fishability in a compact catamaran. It’s perfect for anglers and families alike. Whether you’re chasing fish in the flats, cruising the coastline, or spending a relaxing day with family, its twin-hull design, shallow draft and wide beam is built for versatility.

Spacious decks, smart storage, and comfortable seating make every outing easy and enjoyable, while American-made quality ensures long-lasting performance. What makes this cat unique from her peer group of felines is her single engine layout, with power options up to 250 horsepower. From shallow flats and calm lakes to winding rivers and coastal runs, the 22 BayCat’s twin-hull design delivers stability, fuel efficiency and comfort in all conditions. Constructed with advanced vacuum-infused composite technology, the 22 BayCat offers exceptional strength and durability without added weight. The result is a smoother, drier ride and a boat that’s ready to perform season after season. Whether you’re fishing, cruising, or exploring new waters, the 22 BayCat makes every outing an unforgettable adventure.
Her notable list of standard features includes outboards from Suzuki, Yamaha, or Mercury engines (up to 250hp), dual 30-gallon aluminum fuel cells (one in each sponson) for a balanced ride; hydraulic steering; on the spacious bow day bed with plush upholstery and backrests; stainless steel cupholders and pull-up cleats; built-in bucket storage compartments; dual 25-gallon aerated livewells; insulated in-deck fish boxes for icing your catch; an integrated T-top with spreader lights, rod holders and grab rails; and more. A Family Terrace Package is available, complete with grill and cutting board, which is perfect for onboard dining and the ultimate catch/clean/cook experience.
YELLOWFIN
I spoke to the Yellowfin folks at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show where they mentioned that although there are no new models for 2026, they have upgraded all boats 26 feet to be equipped with standard with Seakeeper Ride vessel stability systems. For anyone who has ever sea trialed the Ride auto tabs, they make a huge difference in the way that most boats will handle rough water when engaged.

The latest Yellowfin to hit the marinas is the upgraded 36 Offshore, which underwent a major refit last year. Among the changes was the relocation of the aft cockpit door to the starboard side, where it opens inward and will enable anglers to bring those big fish onboard without having to negotiate a dangerous path around the outboard engines. The starboard door should also reduce the degree of difficulty when boarding or egressing the boat at dockside. There’s also a dedicated space to install an optional Seakeeper 2 gyro stabilizer. An extended console features a forward lounge that adds more comfortable seating in the bow area to complement the existing raised forward benches port and starboard. It also provides welcome insulated storage for fish, bait or ice down under and is positioned in close proximity to the existing in-floor fishbox.
Other updates to the 36 Offshore include a redesigned transom livewell setup that benefits from the removal of the aforementioned transom door by centering the recirculating baitwell and scalloping out each transom corner, allowing anglers some added elbow room to get closer to the engines when dancing around the cockpit and working a rod against the pull of a stubborn pelagic. The helm seating features updated designs and upholstery, including a new headrest. Yet another upgrade is that the bilge access hatch now opens aft instead of forward, with convenient handrails added to each side of the leaning post for improved crew safety in rough seas. Add the 477-gallon fuel capacity and a 65 to 70 mph top speed and this is girl can travel fast and go far like few others.
| SEA EAGLE FISHSKIFF |
Times are tough, as the cost of fiberglass and larger horsepower engines has pushed manufacturing costs sky high. That said, Sea Eagle Boats, Inc. is a 58-year-old family owned and operated business based in Port Jefferson, NY that first began selling two-person inflatable kayaks – then called the Pyrawa – through various catalogs in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Today the Sea Eagle lineup includes 10 different inflatable kayaks, six inflatable stand up paddleboards (SUP), two inflatable pontoon fishing boats, an inflatable canoe and five different inflatable fishing, motormount and transom boats that will take up to 25 HP engines, plus the four-in-one (fishing, sailing, motoring, and paddling) PaddleSki and inflatable bodyboard called the Wave Slider. In terms of an economical, small boat alternative to those fiberglass hulls in our Boat Buyer’s Guide for ’26, you might want to look at Sea Eagle’s best-selling inflatable fishing boat, the FishSkiff16. The current generation FishSkiff16 weighs just 95 pounds making it a super-portable option that’s also incredibly strong thanks to Sea Eagle’s fusion welding process which provides an extra independent safety air chamber. In addition to being easy to fold and pack up, the newest FishSkiff16 (FSK16) also boasts a patented 6-inch deep, high-pressure, rigid, external, inflatable keel with protective keel guard increases performance and handling, provides a smoother softer cushioned ride with more bow lift and buoyancy. The additional independent safety air chamber also helps increase the FSK16’s self-bailing properties. While FishSkiff16 can fit in the truck of your car or in the bed of a pickup, once deployed the inflatable tapes out at 16 feet in length, 4-1/2 feet across with a 12-foot by 3-foot interior that can accommodate up to three anglers. Inflation time with the Mega Electric Turbo Pump takes about 12 minutes, and it can accommodate a 10hp outboard engine (100 pounds max) with 15-inch short shaft. With that kind of power, the Sea Eagle FishSkiff16 can run up to 21.5 mph with a single person onboard, 12 to 18 mph with your crew member. A solo start-up package (without the outboard) is less than $3K. |
