Nearly 2-1/2 years after the passing of Fred Golofaro, founder of the Send A Kid Fishing program, the Golofaro family is continuing the tradition of sending kids fishing as the program enters its 38th year. As a result of generous donations from private and corporate supporters, the nonprofit has been able to provide no cost fishing trips to Long Island youth in an effort to promote fishing, conservation and outdoor activities. In honor of Fred, the 501(c)3 has been officially renamed Fred’s Send A Kid Fishing Corp. and will continue to carry Fred’s vision forward.
