Grassy Sound Marina’s 16th Annual Flounder Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 25 with divisions for Boat, Kayak and Pier fishermen. Official start time for the tournament is 7:30 a.m. with the weigh-in deadline of 4:30.
For boats, early registration fee is $250 (four anglers), with price going to $275 at the Friday night captains meeting on June 24 at 7:30. Fishable waters for the contest are from Corsons Inlet to Cold Spring Inlet. Grassy Sound slipholders will pick up Tournament bag at marina by 7 a.m. on Saturday, while non-slip holders pick up Tournament bag by boat in Grassy Sound Channel from pontoon boat in front of marina.
For the kayak division, contest anglers can begin fishing at 6:30 a.m. in back bay boundaries from Corsons Inlet to Cold Spring Inlet. Kayaks may enter back bay at any legal entry point within the boundaries after the Tournament bag has been collected. There is a designated launch location at the marina.
For pier anglers, registration is $25 and includes lunch. Fishing from the Grassy Sound pier begins at 8 a.m. with the final weigh-in at 2 p.m. Monies raised from the event will go to support Warriors on the Water.
