Photo Gallery June 2022 by STAFF A few snapshots from the spring of 2022 in the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region. Fisherman reader Rich Mulford from Belmar caught this 23-inch fluke off the Belmar Dock on May 11 using a jerk shad on a half-ounce jighead and 15-pound leader. Kevin Ingram messaged us in late April after a solid weekend of shad fishing on the Delaware, with he and Steve Reigles scored 40 shad in one day with the largest fish going 4.9 pounds. Dennis Lott and his buddy Bruce Levin of Ventnor limited out on tautog to 19 inches in mid-April while fishing at Ocean City Reef. As a reminder NJ tautog (one fish) reopens August 1. Captain TJ Miller and crew of the End Game Tournament Team brought the first reported bluefin of the 2022 season in to Captain Bill’s Landing in Point Pleasant where it weighed in at 178 pounds. Maren (age 13), Ellie (age 11) and Mark (age 8) earn their keep in the Schneider home by taking care of the detail work. “They are ready to go fishing,” said dad Brian. So who takes out the garbage? New Fisherman subscriber Jonny Ayala from North Plainfield trolled bunker spoons in Raritan Bay in early May and enjoyed taking home fillets for himself and a fishing buddy.
