On Saturday, August 14, the Holiday Beach Club of Waretown in Ocean County will host a fluke tournament from 5 a.m. until 4 p.m. that’s open to boaters, surfcasters and kayak anglers. Prizes will be awarded to top three heaviest fluke in three divisions – men, women and junior (under 13) anglers with 100% of optional calcuttas going towards the winning anglers.
Cost for entry is $125 per boat (up to six anglers), $50 for individual surf and kayak anglers. A mandatory captains meeting will be held on Friday, August 13 at 6 p.m. at Holiday Beach Club at 26 Shore Drive in Waretown; the awards BBQ will be held there as well on Sunday, August 15 at 3 p.m. All weigh-ins for the Holiday Beach Club Fluke Tournament will be at Creekside Outfitters on Route 9; look for tournament registration there or contact Jeff Evans at 732-569-4819 or captjeff.evans@gmail.com.
