While makos may be off limits this season, those big whiptails are in play this month as thresher fever hits the Jersey Coast this month.
Presented by the Jersey Coast Shark Anglers (JCSA), Thresher Fever is continues the club’s 43rd year of shark tournament tradition with thresher sharks of 66 inches or greater (minimum fork length) the exclusive target for tournament fishermen from June 16-19. Weigh-ins will be held at Captain Bill’s Landing in Point Pleasant Beach.
The captains meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 15 at JCSA headquarters at 385 Herbertsville Road in Brick. Tournament fishing will run four consecutive days with captain/crew choosing which day to fish (or as many as they want with each day paid).
