Ladies, come on out and join the ladies of the Forked River Tuna Club for their 33rd annual Ladies’ Catch of the Day Tournament. For a $30 entrance fee, fish for fluke and sea bass on Saturday, July 11; inclement weather date is Saturday, July 12.
A paid angler may register up to three Mermaids (girls age 12 or under). A male parent/adult may also register up to three Mermaids. His fee is $20 (no fishing) and he will receive a ticket to the Awards picnic. Mermaids fish for fluke and crab.
Registration and Captain’s meeting is Friday, July 10 at 6 p.m. at the Forked River Tuna Club clubhouse located at 18 Bay Avenue in Forked River. Your entry allows you to enjoy the awards picnic on July 11, beginning immediately after the weigh station closes at 4 p.m. There are gift basket raffles, door prizes and you can purchase additional picnic tickets for your crew!
Proceeds from this annual event go to local Marine Conservation organizations as well as the FRTC’s Scholarship Fund. Registration forms and rules can be obtained on the website, forkedrivertunaclub.com and registration forms received by June 26 are eligible for an early entry raffle.
