The Long Beach Island Fishing Club’s 74th Annual World Series of Surf Fishing Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, September 25. Once again the club will be offering both team and individual competition. Entry fee is $80 per team until September 18, and $100 after. Individual registration fee is $20 due at registration on September 25.
Registration: Will be held from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. in the meeting room at the Long Beach Island Fishing Club at 6 E. Cape May Avenue in Harvey Cedars. Coffee and donuts will be served during registration.
Fishing time is 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., and again from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. “We plan to use North Beach, Surf City, Harvey Cedars, Ship Bottom and Loveladies beaches again this year,” said tournament co-chair Frank D’Ambrosio, adding that beach buggy fees will be waived for the tournament. “Actual beach access will be finalized closer to the tournament date,” he added.
A free hot lunch will be served at the club at the conclusion of fishing, followed by awards ceremony and numerous door prizes. Only the first 50 teams and a limited number of individuals will be accepted, so be sure to register early
