Mr. Poseidon is proud to announce the 5th Annual 3-Day Montauk Striper Challenge, a premier catch-and-release striped bass tournament returning to Montauk on October 16–18, 2025. Held at the Montauk Lower Lot, this highly anticipated surfcasting event brings together anglers of all levels for three days of fishing, competition, and camaraderie, all while emphasizing respect for our marine resources through sustainable practices.
Now in its fifth year, the Montauk Striper Challenge has grown into one of the most exciting striped bass surf tournaments on the East Coast. The event will kick off at 8 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, and conclude at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, with daily action and updates keeping participants and fans engaged throughout the weekend. This year’s field will be capped at 250 anglers, ensuring both safety and quality competition along Montauk’s legendary shoreline.

The tournament will feature more than 10 main prizes, with multiple side challenges and contests adding extra excitement to the weekend. Beyond the competition, anglers can look forward to the camaraderie that comes with surfcasting in Montauk, sharing tips, stories, and techniques with fellow fishermen. As a strict catch-and-release event, the challenge highlights conservation and ensures that striped bass remain a treasured fishery for generations to come.
