The New Jersey Beach Buggy Association (NJBBA) will hold its annual President’s Cup Fishing Tournament on Sunday, November 8th at four designated New Jersey beaches. The contest is open only to NJBBA members in good standing, and registration is free.
Registration will take place between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. on the day of the event at Island Beach State Park in the back parking lot at Area 7; Surf City Bait and Tackle’s parking lot at 317 Long Beach Blvd in Surf City (LBI); the North End entrance to the beach at Brigantine; and Corson’s Inlet State Park at County Hwy 619 in Ocean City.
Eligible fish entries include weakfish, bluefish, striped bass, drum, tautog and kingfish, with catches being judged at the registration area between 2 and 3 p.m. Prizes for first, second, and third place at each beach will be awarded at the annual NJBBA banquet. The overall winner for the tournament will receive an NJBBA jacket embroidered with “2020 President’s Cup Winner.”
