The Brigantine Elks Lodge #2428 will hold their annual Fall Striper Classic from November 20-22 with around the clock fishing open to boaters and surfcasters alike in Brigantine. The tournament will benefit Elks Veterans Programs. Entry fee is $60 per boat (up to four anglers) and $30 for surfcasters.
The contest is a total weight of two fish, with tiebreaker the length of fish combined. Payout will be 35% to first place, 10% to second and 5% in third with the remaining 50% going to the Elks Veterans programs. Each participant can weigh in one fish (surf) and four fish (boat) per day and must follow New Jersey possession limits. Boundaries are from Barnegat Inlet in the north to Great Egg Inlet to the south with weigh-ins at Riptide Bait and Tackle in Brigantine.
There are also calcuttas available, $25 for boaters and $10 for surfcasters with 100% of the winnings given to the single heaviest fish in each division.
