The last time I spoke with NorthCoast’s Sales Manager Gregg Weatherby in November, he mentioned that “something big” was in the offing but couldn’t get into specifics. Last month, NorthCoast unveiled the new flagship of their growing fleet, the 415HT.

The basic hull features an overall length of 46 feet, 1 inch (with quad Yamaha F300 XSB outboards, bracket, and standard bow pulpit) that supports a 12-foot 11-inch beam and a deep-vee running bottom that tapers back to an aggressive 25-degrees of deadrise aft. This is the rock on which she is built. However, the 415HT is offered in both fishing and a cruising base layout, with many accommodations supporting each specific mission. Counting her quad outboards and 619 gallons of fuel onboard, she’ll tip the scales north of 24,550 pounds fully loaded, enabling owners to fish or cruise longer with more crew onboard and in total comfort. According to NorthCoast Boats Brand and C&C Fiberglass Components owner Jose DaPonte, “This is the first model where we have partnered with an outside design firm, and we are confident the new Northcoast 415HT will exceed expectations on every level.” Thomas Degremont and Sam Howell of Langan Design Partners in Newport, Rhode Island, were selected to work with the NorthCoast team on the new 415HT. Langan Design Partners is a firm that specializes in designing internationally renowned yachts.
The new 415HT is a radical paradigm shift from the 255, 285, and 315HT models that we have tested in the past. She is on a different level. According to the Langan Design Partners, “The hull sports a deep-vee profile with a 25-degree deadrise at the transom while keeping subtle round-off at the keel, which gives the hull a little more lift aft and allows for a smoother transition to planing. The hull’s volume is optimized to handle multiple outboards, and the top speed with quad F300s will be more than 50 mph.” From the initial drawings and photos on the NorthCoast’s website, the 415HT looks fast just sitting still.
Roomy Layout
A 102-square-foot cockpit provides ample room. An aft-facing doublewide bench seat equipped with armrest-mounted cup holders and a built-in 27-gallon insulated cooler down under is set up against the port side of the cabin’s full-height aft bulkhead with bi-folding windows and locking door. A tackle center/rigging station is strategically positioned on the opposite side of the twin bench to starboard, offering the convenience of having immediate access to baits, rigging, and lures with minimal intrusion on the fishing cockpit when it comes time to bend the rods. Other standard fishing features include a pair of 29-gallon recirculating livewells situated in the transom bulkhead, topped by clear acrylic lids, with lighted blue-wall oval-shaped walls to keep the bait frisky. Dual 75-gallon insulated fishboxes set port and starboard under the cockpit sole equipped with macerator pump-outs.
Comfy Cabin
The 415HT features a “galley-up” design with a settee with a wooden table to port and a full galley to starboard equipped with a drawer-style refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and sink. The stainless-steel Edson Wheel, two Raymarine AXIOM 2XL 19-inch multi-function displays, and Release Double Helm Seat complete the NorthCoast 415HT’s helm.
The head door is situated starboard, with the master stateroom straight ahead. The wood trim, floors, doors, and drawers set the tone for a spacious master suite whose entrance is hidden behind a sliding mahogany door. Once inside, a walk-around large Queen berth provides comfort and cover for hidden rod storage below. Reading lights and USB charging ports are located on either side, and a large hanging locker is attached to the port. Overhead is a two-foot square opening hatch with a screen for natural light and fresh air, with four opening portals split port and starboard. The 415HT offers comfortable sleeping for six adults, including the portside single crew berth, aft three-quarter beam double, and the convertible settee up in the pilothouse. The head has a vanity, vessel sink, faucet, and glass door into a fully partitioned shower with a teak grate and a seat.
