This is a great opportunity to meet and schedule tours with charter boat fishing captains and hunting outfitters. There will be ongoing demonstrations including fly fishing on the casting pond, and float & fly techniques by fishing guide and bait designer T.J. DeFelice. Fly casting will also take place atop a 5,000-gallon Hawg Trough Fish Tank with Fly-Tying by experts in the Fly-Tie Center. Be sure to check out the live dog presentations on how to train your “bird dog” to point by Dusty W German Shorthaired Pointers of Palmerton, Pa., and principles of duck hunting by Connecticut Delta Waterfowl Association.

Hands-On Activities include live fishing at the Catch & Release Trout Pond for prizes; NRA Laser Shot Range, a Sportsmen’s Outpost’s archery range, Tactical Airsoft’s shooting sports; and Connecticut Bass Nation’s Kids’ Casting Competition. Get the details on the CT Department of Energy & Environmental & Protection’s (DEEP) latest rules and regulations on wildlife, fisheries, hunting and fishing, with a variety of displays including live fish tank. Saturday, at noon, the DEEP’s Trophy Fish Awards Ceremony recognizes state’s top anglers.
