The wait is almost over, trout season opens in Rhode Island and ‘trout harvest season’ opens in Connecticut this Saturday, April 12th at 6 a.m., this springtime tradition marks the unofficial start of fishing season for thousands of anglers across New England. If trout aren’t your thing, you may want to try your hand at targeting giant largemouths, the bite for big fish has been tremendous this week! Stripers are becoming increasingly active around the herring runs now and tog are in play as well, as long as we have the weather, which has been tough lately. April is almost half-gone, get out there and start your season!
