Trout fishing has been a hot topic this week with opening day in CT & RI hitting last weekend and stocking continuing across the region; one angler came within ounces of a breaking a state record with a beautiful brown trout! Striper action continues to creep north and east as rising water temps push holdover bass out of their winter homes, setting up catches on the beaches and up in the bays. Wachusett Reservoir hit its springtime stride as well, with lake trout to a whopping 15 pounds and many sizeable smallies reported. And the Cape ponds continue to put out big largemouth bass, with multiple fives and sixes landed over the last seven days!
