Yes, it’s FINALLY that time of year again! Striped bass action is in that phase of rapid expansion where schoolies explode into slots and overs over the course of just a few days. Western Long Island Sound already has fish to 30 pounds. Just in the time between recording this video and posting it, the striper reports from Buzzards Bay changed from ‘just schoolies’ to include ‘a few fish into the mid-30-inch class.’ This a marker of the season and it’s a very exciting time for saltwater anglers. Just as exciting though, has been the freshwater fishing which has brought with it some impressive largemouth and smallmouth bass and lots of outsized stocked trout. These are the days we’ve longed for all winter, don’t let them get away!
