Each spring, striper anglers hold their breath until this moment. A surge of stripers has crashed the party in Narragansett Bay, with smaller cohorts coursing up the rivers and into the bays from Jamestown to the Canal. These fish are abundant and aggressive and ranging in size from 25 to 40 inches, there have been a few larger bass in the mix as well… and it’s only going to get better. Togging is also hitting its spring stride with good catches from shallow water, the season closes today in Connecticut, but remains open in Rhody and Mass. Freshwater catches have also been awesome this week, with smallies in the reservoirs and trout biting just about everywhere!
