Big bluefish action is ramping up south of Boston along with some big bass; at the same time a push of larger bluefish has moved into Long Island Sound, just in time for the Greatest Bluefish Tournament on Earth! We’ve also heard multiple albie reports; some from Nantucket Sound and some from the Rhode Island coast. It’s been a good week for late-summer togging in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and some nice sea bass have been caught in western Buzzards Bay. If the bluefin closure has you thinking twice about making the long ride to catch and release, Block Island has had a good pile of bonito and some very large striped bass as well.
