It’s hard to believe it, but it’s December. The good news is that there are still many options for anglers all over New England. Trout fishing has really come alive over the past few weeks, particularly on Cape Cod and throughout interior Connecticut. Striped bass are pretty much done in Massachusetts, but there are still bass along the SoCo beaches and all over Long Island Sound, concentrate your efforts around the mouths of known holdover estuaries for your best shot. Blackfishing is red hot in Rhody with a mix of cod and sea bass to keep things interesting. It may be the holiday season, but it’s also fishing season, so you’ll have to figure out how to do both!
