Unsettled weather has kept a lot of boats off the water this week, but when they have been able to get out, the bite has been awesome. We received a report this morning from the Black Hawk (running out of Niantic, CT) that told of a red hot bite at Coxes Ledge yesterday with cod, sea bass, porgies, a few pollock and even a weakfish in the mix. The holdover striper guys are pulling some good action from the Housy and other backwaters this week. Cape trout fishing has remained steady and reliable when the wind cooperates and we had skim ice across much of the region this morning. Happy Holidays from all of us here at The Fisherman Magazine!
