In spite of the recent cold snap and the fact that it’s December, local fishing has been quite good. We have bluefin tuna showing up around Southwest Ledge, where huge schools of mackerel are also in residence. We still have very good bottom fishing for tog, cod and sea bass throughout Rhode Island waters. Western Long Island Sound has seen a strong push of striped bass. And freshwater fishers can choose from any number of inland hotspots throughout New England. It seems like everyone that goes, is catching fish! Make the most of it!
