The New Year has come out of the gate at a full sprint, with interior portions of New England seeing strong catches through the ice and the tidal rivers of Connecticut putting out some great striped bass action. The Cape ponds are giving up good catches of bass, trout and pickerel using a variety of methods; and there are even still a few mackerel in the east end of the Canal. Happy New Year to all of our viewers, let’s start this one off on the right foot and get that first fish of the year out of the way this weekend!
