In this week’s Web Fishing Forecast, New England editor, Dave Anderson clues you in on the fishing around the Northeast. Striped bass are the main fish of focus for most anglers across the region right now and with good reason, there are three main areas that are packed with giants: western Long Island Sound, upper Narragansett Bay and eastern Buzzards Bay. In any one of these areas anglers have a legit shot at breaking 40 or even 50 pounds. The 2021 season is proving to be the year of the weakfish and the tributaries and estuaries of Narragansett Bay seem to be the epicenter for weakfish activity. Sea-bassing has gone from good to great in central Long Island Sound at places like Six Mile Reef and Kimberley Reef and in Buzzards Bay at places like Cleveland Ledge and Nye Ledge. It’s June, there’s a lot going on, don’t waste another day!
