With the steady parade of storms, the largemouth bass have had many reasons to feed, and local anglers have been taking advantage; the biggest fish of the week was a fat 7-pound, 10-ounce beast taken by Mike Dixon. Trout stocking continued in Massachusetts and Connecticut this week with more than 65 rivers, lakes and ponds getting a fresh dose between the two states. Longer days and newly-arriving herring are kicking the holdover stripers into feed mode from Rhode Island out to Cape Cod. Mid-March is a phenomenal time to fish, don’t waste it!
