Freshwater fishing dominates our reports again as antsy anglers bide their time with largemouth bass and newly-stocked trout. Those putting in the time for either species are reporting great results—just remember that Rhode Island still has an opening day (April 9) and all ‘trout stocked waters’ are closed to ALL FISHING. Holdover striped bass are another popular target, particularly in Connecticut, where the night bite in the major rivers is producing some fish in excess of 20 pounds. The herring are starting to run and ospreys are returning, spring is here and there’s no turning back!
