The Fisherman Magazine Weekend Video Forecast 5/19/2022 – New England
Squidding blew wide open this week from SoCo to Fishers which has given a much-needed boost to the early fluke run. By all accounts, fluking is still on the slow side, but any sign of improvement is a good thing. Striper action is gearing up to explode in three key areas, western Long Island Sound, Narragansett Bay and the areas outside the west end of the Canal. Fish from 15 to 30 pounds have been reported and there will be bigger fish in next week’s report. Also, don’t forget that sea bass opens this week in CT (5/19), RI (5/22) and MA (5/21).
