In spite of another windy week, toggers in the Ocean State found weather windows or braved the waves for some very good fishing. The highlight of the week was a new Rhode Island State Record blackfish that tipped the scales at a mind-numbing 23.94 pounds! One light meal away from 24 pounds! But this wasn’t the only big tog of the week, several other double-digits were landed. We also have bonito still around, and some decent striper action in pockets as well. Those who looked to the sweetwater side found plenty of largemouth bass and lots of stocked trout. Here’s to hoping for an extended break in the weather. Fingers crossed!
