A surge of large blackfish has moved into eastern Long Island Sound, with many 7- to 9-pound fish reported from just outside the Thames River to the Watch Hill Reefs. There are also numbers of bonito still showing across the region, some are even mixing in with bottom species out near Block Island. Stripers are on the move, but catches are still looking good from the Cape to the Housy and beyond.
