A giant bluefin bite has materialized not too far offshore in Rhode Island, prompting many local anglers to try their hand at the giant game. Meanwhile albies are slashing through the same waters and earning a lot of interest from the rest of the general population of fishermen. Connecticut saw their first shot of albies this week as well, spreading a new variant of albie fever. The Vineyard Derby kicked off in style with great albie fishing and some shore bones too. And the Canal saw a resurgence of large stripers and blues after a weekend lull.
