There’s a lot of fishing going on, but the main events right now are the Public Hearings on Amendment 7 to the Striped Bass Management plan. Rhode Island presented their hearing on Tuesday to a sparse crowd of concerned anglers via webinar, Massachusetts is up next on the 21st with Connecticut to follow on the 22nd; for a complete list of hearings by state click HERE. As far as the fishing goes, freshwater anglers are splitting their time between prespawn largies and freshly-stocked trout. Holdover striped bass action is heating up in many backwater estuaries. Spring seems to be determined to usher out Old Man Winter, celebrate by getting out there and hooking up!
