Do It Yourself Hook Disgorger - The Fisherman

Do It Yourself Hook Disgorger

2017 9 Do It Yourself Hook Disgorger

You can easily build your own hook disgorger for a few cents by sawing down an old wooden broom or mop stick to about eight inches, and screw in a 2-9/16-inch ceiling type hook screw available at Loews, Home Depot or your local hardware store. While you should be able to screw the hook into the base of the stick or dowel, you can also use a 1/8 drill bit to drill down about ¼ inch, or just enough to get the screw started for an easy screw down. Once it’s complete, simply run the disgorger down the line and to the hook, where a quick twist of the disgorger will remove the hook quickly and easily without touching the fish.
