FORKED RIVER TUNA CLUB TO HOST LADIES’ CATCH OF THE DAY FISHING TOURNAMENT

The Forked River Tuna Club (FRTC) will hold their 29th Annual Ladies’ Catch of the Day Fluke and Sea Bass Fishing Tournament on July 9. The tournament is open to women and mermaids (girls age 12 and under). Women will be fishing for fluke and sea bass, mermaids for fluke and crabs.

The entry fee is $30 per angler and mermaids fish for free, but must be accompanied by an adult (female or male). Adults accompanying a mermaid do not have to be a registered angler in the tournament.

Anglers’ meeting will be held on Friday, July 8 at 7 p.m. at the Forked River Tuna Club, 18 Bay Avenue, Forked River; doors and kitchen open at 6:30 p.m. with registration running until 9 p.m. Fishing and crabbing will be held from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 9. Weigh-in will be held at the Forked River Tuna Club until 4 p.m. while the awards picnic and gift auction gets under way at 5 p.m.
