Trolled diamond jigs were the recipe for catching bluefish in Smithtown Bay for Laurel Ehlers.

During a Block Island fluke fishing trip on the Montauk Star, Josh Cohen nailed the pool winner, coming in at 6 pounds in the beginning of September. “Fishbites did the job” said Josh.
Daniel Del Rosario took first place in the Surf Rats Ball surfcasting tournament with his 53-pounder caught from a South Shore inlet while targeting fluke with a 6-foot St. Croix rod and a Berkley soft plastic rigged on a jighead.
Nine-year-old Thano Rontiris caught his first weakfish near Shelter Island using Fishbites E-Z Strips baited on a hi-lo rig.
While fishing off the Long Beach are in about 70 feet of water, Dana Munno fed a live bunker to a 60-pound cobia which was weighed in at J&J Sports in Patchogue.
On July 20th, 15-year-old Eddie Looft caught this 8.4-pound fluke on a Tsunami Glass Minnow with a Gulp Grub as the teaser in Montauk. The fish was weighed in at the Montauk Anglers Club.
While fishing on the Hammertime out of Montauk, Alyssa Sussman put together a limit of quality fluke including the one pictured on a mid-July trip.
