Albies Crash Rhody Waters!
It’s officially that time of year when a huge percentage of the anglers in New England completely lose their minds! The false albacore have moved in and the scope of their invasion seems to be expanding exponentially like some recursive virus! The hot zone at the moment is from Brenton Reef off Newport to Point Judith, but with hurricane swell battering the Rhode Island shoreline it’s likely that these concentrations of fish will move around a bit. There have also been strongholds of large stripers in southern Maine and Boston Harbor—but the big winner for big bass has been Block Island where several 50-plus pound stripers were caught and released this week, the biggest was a whopping 57 pounds! Tomorrow is September, hopefully you’ve banked some sleep over the summer, because things are about to get crazy!
