The Fisherman Magazine Weekend Video Forecast 8/5/2021 – New England
In this week’s web fishing forecast we’re seeing more hardtail action from Long Island Sound to Martha’s Vineyard. There are bonito all over Rhode Island waters, in Vineyard Sound and even some small ones in the Canal. Chub mackerel are fully entrenched from the Connecticut River to the Big Ditch; there are bullet macks in Rhody and Spanish macks in Long Island Sound. The best striper action is out at Block Island for the boaters or on the outer beaches for the surf guys. Sea bass and fluke is hottest near Block Island as well. Those hunting school bluefins should shift their focus to The Dump. Some call these first days of August the ‘summer doldrums’ – but really, they’re just more days when you could go out and catch a fish! Good luck this week!
