With just 18 days until Christmas, there is still a lot going on in New England fishing. We’re seeing one of the better late-fall cod runs over the last decade with big numbers of herring and mackerel fueling their push inshore and also attracting some giant bluefin tuna. Holdover striped bass action has quickly worked itself to a froth in the Housy while other Nutmeg State fishers have been taking advantage of the awesome trout fishing there. In Massachusetts most anglers have moved off of saltwater fishing but we have striped bass reports from Cape Cod this week, along with more great catches of smallmouth bass from the Cape ponds as well.
