NJ Striper Report – Nothing Is Over Until It Is

“What? Over? Did you say over?” Bluto might’ve rallied the troops with his Pearl Harbor speech, but what about the November blitzes in Central and North Jersey; can that bite sustain the surfcasting fraternity through the holidays? Another weekend of mayhem is met by a somewhat quiet work week, but there are bass still on the prowl in the surf, and in this week’s full video forecast we also have some striper reports by boats running off the South Jersey coast as well with “overs” reported off Atlantic and Cape May counties as well into the 60-pound range. Bird play off Corsons perhaps? It’s anyone’s guess at this point. But on top of the striped bass, December is also the time for taking those wreck trips in search of jumbo porgies, humpback sea bass and monster blackfish. Regrettably, the weekend weather doesn’t look too hospitable for the inshore and offshore snags with N/NE winds in the forecast gusting to 25 knots and seas in the 6- to 8-foot range. It’ll be interesting to see what happens on the striper front after this little nor’east blow; remember what Yogi said, “it ain’t over til’ it’s over.”
