With temps flirting with 60 degrees this week, February just doesn’t feel like February. Several local fisheries are catching up with the weather as largemouth bass fishing took a noticeable upward turn this week. We also have information on an increase in brown trout action on the Farmington River. But the biggest news of the week is that striper action in the Housatonic River has started to swing back in the right direction with several nice fish landed over the last seven days. And for the hardwater guys, there is still safe ice in the higher altitudes of western Massachusetts and throughout the northern 2/3 of New Hampshire and Maine as well.
